Joe A. Califa has been in the financial services industry since 2016. Prior to that he was working in the land surveying industry while at the same time pursuing a Master in Business Administration degree. While speaking with colleagues about the basic financial principles he was learning about, he realized that there was a lack of education regarding financial management. Upon graduating he made a career change that was the 3rd best decision in his life. The other two decisions were getting married and joining the Marine Corps. He still isn’t sure which of those two take the top spot. Joe spent most of his military career as a Marine Security Guard providing diplomatic security to American Embassies and Consulates which provided him the opportunity to travel to many different countries and experience many cultures. He enjoys giving back to the community and is a past board member of the McAllen Public Library Advisory Board and he graduated with Leadership McAllen Class 36.
Joe holds the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA) designation which demonstrates his expertise in helping employers manage their fiduciary duties. He also holds the Series 7 & 66 securities registrations with LPL Financial and an Insurance General Lines license. He graduated from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi with a Bachelor of Science degree and graduated from The University of Texas-Pan American with a Master of Business Administration degree.
Joe married his wife, Elizabeth, in 2013 and they have 2 kids, Elise and David. He enjoys spending his free time with his family and training for triathlons and other endurance sports.
