About our internships
Our internship programs are built to support the new generation of financial advisors and planners. We are committed to providing students a learning experience that aligns with their educational and professional goals.
We want our interns to show up with their full potential, so we are commited to flexible scheduling based on your needs. That being said,
our internship applications are open all year round.
However, we can only host one intern at a time. If the position is filled, every application will be put on a waitlist, and we will be in contact with you for future opportunities.
We are always expanding our opportunities, and we are currently working on creating new internship programs. Make sure to check in on us reguarly to see if a new program is up!
Four Week Internship Program
This program is built for students looking for an internship focused on asset management and investment planning.
In this program, you will meet with each advisor and admin for one-on-one sessions that will teach you about their roles, responsibilities, and technique. In between your meetings, you will be working on a Managed Wealth Portfolio (MWP) project. This project will teach you the complexities and resourcefulness of an MWP, and you will have hands-on experience analyzing different portfolio models, strategies, and their benefits.

- Introduction to Managed Wealth Portfolio (MWP) Project

- Weekly Advisor Meeting Sit-In
- MWP Project Check-In
Week Four
- 1-on-1 Meetings with Advisors and Admins
- Weekly Advisor Meeting Sit-In
- Final Presentation of MWP Project to IWC Advisors

Internship Requirements
Due to the nature of our program, you must meet the following criteria to be eligble for an internship:
- You must be 18 years old or older
- You must be eligible to work in the United States
- You must be currently enrolled in a college or university
- You must have a basic understanding of Microsoft Excel and related Microsoft programs
- You must be able to work in person at our Edinburg location.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the expected working hours?
You will be expected to come to the Edinburg, TX office two days a week with three-hour workdays. However, we are more than happy to work with you on your schedule, so we are open to changes within reasonable bounds. No matter what, your schedule will be unique to you and your availability.
Will I have to bring my own computer?
In this internship, we are happy to say that we will provide you with all resources required! We will assign you a computer with the needed accessories, and you will have access to Microsoft 365 programs to ensure a productive internship experience.
What are the LPL online clasess?
The LPL online onboarding consists of four self-paced courses. These courses are:
- New Hire Security and Privacy
- Communicating Electronically: Required Advisor Training
- Anti-Money Laundering, Fraud, and Financial Crimes Training
- Working with Senior Investors and Vulnerable Adult Investors
How many interns are allowed in the program at once?
We are working on expanding our program, but we will only have one intern at a time. If the intern position is full, your application will be put on our waitlist. Rest assured, we will still reach out to you and can schedule you in for a future program!
I am under 18 years old, can I still apply for an internship?
We cannot accept interns below 18 years old. However, please feel free to apply anyway! We will put your information on our waitlist, and we can contact you for future opportunities.
Is this a paid or unpaid internship?
We are working on expanding our program to include paid internships, but both of our current internship programs are unpaid.
